Help me give my students all kinds of culinary delights! Cooking is an excellent way for students to learn independence. We are in need of new microwaves to learn simple recipes that can be made at home!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In this class, students learn to cook basic snacks and meals. This gives these students the basic skills to help take care of themselves at home. Learning to cook together will help the students develop independence skills needed for life and possibly future careers. With these cooking tools, they are able to learn how to prep, cook, and sew some basic items. They will be able to microwave basic ingredients, use a blender to make simple healthy smoothies and learn to follow a recipe. In addition to fostering student independence, students also will learn basic hand sewing for independent living by sewing simple fabric patterns.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
