My Students
My kids are awesome! We are the only Kindergarten in a small, rural school located in Maine. Our regional school unit is considered a high risk school. We have many students receiving Title I and Special Education services. My classroom is filled with 20 bright eyed bushy tailed children who are creative, excited and fun to work with!
My children are sponges when it comes to whatever I am teaching!
They love to learn! Every day is a new adventure with them as soon as they enter my classroom!
My Project
This year I am trying to offer different types of centers in my Kindergarten classroom. I have many academic centers but feel the need to incorporate more play-based centers. Four and five year old children need a variety of centers to help them learn and get along with others.
This stove from Lakeshore Learning would really round out the kitchen set center that I am putting together.
Play-based centers are extremely important to the growth of the whole child.
Small groups of children would use it during our designated center time as well as inside recess time. Using this center will enhance their social skills, math skills and literacy skills while they "play" and develop their brains and bodies.
