it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I will be teaching in the Autism Spectrum Disorder Program at a Middle School in Hialeah. Our school does not have many funds to supply us with tools, like cooking appliances, to teach our students the essential life skills they need. The students need these resources in order to practice daily life skills and apply them in their everyday lives. We share over 100+ students in our program. To properly instruct my students, a multitude of resources are needed to ensure they are being accommodated.

With these resources, I will be able to explore the abilities of my students and encourage them to learn through their strongholds. The more resources available to me, the more I can ensure that each unique student gets the chance to learn something new every day.
My Project
Cooking is a great way to show students how to be independent, follow step-by-step instructions, and use their motor skills. By cooking in the classroom, students will be able to familiarize themselves with these appliances.
Utilizing cooking appliances will help my students generalize these skills into their everyday lives.
I choose Dash Mini Appliances because they are easily operated and used often on a day-to-day basis. These resources will allow me to show the students how to make easy, essential meals that can satisfy their hunger.
Life Skills are essential, especially for a student with Autism. Teaching students how to cook and use these appliances can help them nourish themselves when needed.
