My Project
Our student have the opportunity during the day to participate in hands on experiences to learn skills that will help them now and with their transition into the real world independently. We currently have stations for cooking, but no working ovens to expand our knowledge and skills of nutrition and cooking.
Our goal is to teach not only nutrition but kitchen/cooking safety and everyday cooking skills that the students can utilize to become independent.
For some of our students (and students in other support classrooms that will also have access to the ovens), there are imitations that requires unique learning and adaptations to use and cook with a stove safely. We hope to work on learning how to make healthy choices, and how to
