Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We would like to create a Food Science elective class that helps middle school students learn the essential kitchen and cooking skills needed to make basic meals for them and their families. We will also hit other state standards for home economics.
Many of our students are responsible for taking care of themselves and their younger siblings, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic when their parents have returned to in-person work.
This project will allow us to get the basic small appliances, pots, pans, cutting boards, and even utility carts to store it all! This equipment is needed for the foundation of this class!
