My Students
Many teachers might believe that they have the perfect students but I really do. My students are perfect to me because each day between 9-4 they are my kids. Like every great class, my students have many different experiences as well as learning styles.
It takes a village to raise a child and my students are the next aspiring village teachers. That being said I need to do whatever it may take to prepare them for such an important future job.
My Project
Our library needs the books that have been nominated for the Oklahoma Sequoyah Book Award for 2018. This award is chosen by Oklahoma students each year. They take this job very seriously. I also reward each student that reads all 16 with cookies.
Each school year, students in third through fifth grade read as many of the Sequoyah books as they can and vote for their favorite one.
They must read at least three of them. I tally all their votes and send our winner in, so it can be counted with all the other school winners.
Because of budget cuts, we aren't able to purchase any new books for our library.
