Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students will use these journals to improve their writing and speaking. Specifically, I will show them what proper English looks like by having them copy sentences from the literature we read. These examples will be centered around whatever weaknesses they may have at that time, i.e. proper use of the past tense.
Students will record examples of these examples in their notebooks.
I will also use the notebooks so students can record responses to a quotation I use to start our daily class discussions. This tool will help them to not only improve their oral argumentation, but their written as well.
By having maintaining these journals, I will have a way to see how I need to improve my instruction.
