I need to continue growing as an educator and support all my student's needs, so I am pursuing my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of becoming a National Board-certified teacher is to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in a global community. Students will learn to write for a variety of purposes and audiences. They will use literacy practices to promote social justice. I am learning how to address the needs of all my students, including their social-emotional needs. I am also learning how to best communicate effectively with parents and all other stakeholders to ensure that all my students’ needs are met. I am learning how to effectively collaborate with my grade-level teachers as well as teachers from other grade levels at my school. I also network with teachers from different schools and districts. I have learned so much from other teachers and have been inspired by them. I participate in professional development on an ongoing basis to help me reach the highest echelon in teaching.
