After having a DonorsChoose order fulfilled to start our Care Closet for high school students, we found that we are in need of a way to make these items more accessible to students. I have also had teachers bring to my attention some needs that were overlooked! Some students, no matter their gender, need access to clean underwear. We have gone through over 500 feminine pads and tampons already this year! This project will provide students with a calming and helpful closet that allows them to access whatever they need!
Accessibility to basic necessities like clean underwear and feminine hygiene products is essential to student well-being and mental health.
The bins requested in this project will be labeled so students can grab whatever they need without worry. We have had such success with our Care Closet already that I feel it is important we keep it stocked! These students appreciate the support and care so much, and it breaks down barriers that would otherwise be there!
