Dr. Seuss said, "The more things you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go." I believe this quote to be accurate. By giving my students engaging books, they will gain a love for reading. A love for reading will open so many doors for my students.
My students are from low-income neighborhoods and their homes were recently damaged by Hurricane Matthew.
Even through this hardship, my students are eager to return to school. They are loving and caring individuals.
My Project
My students enjoy fun, engaging books! The donation of these books will help rebuild our classroom library after Hurricane Matthew. They will be used during small groups, teacher led instruction, and independent work. These books will also be used for enjoyment. This includes read alouds (my students FAVORITE) and silent reading.
By using fun, engaging books in my daily routine, my students will gain a love for reading.
This love for reading will ensure that my students become lifelong learners in an ever changing and demanding world. I know that reading will help my students excel and reach their dreams in the future.
