Continuing Education Through Distance Learning at Home

Help me give my students the tools they need to compete in a global market.

My Students

I teach a group of resilient young ladies and gentleman that are born of poverty into the age of technology. They hunger for a 21st Century education that would allow them to be independent and competitive with their peers. My students struggle financially to have technology at their fingertips.

My students want to be college and career ready.

Most of my students look forward to a high school and a college education. I have introduced the hybrid classroom to my students, and they are excited to think that they can learn at their own pace and be masters in their educational journey as they explore their own interests. I feel providing them with the technological tools and experiences a hybrid classroom can give them, will allow them to be prepared, competitive while becoming college and career ready.

My Project

All of my students will use the HP Chromebooks to develop technology skills that include researching, writing, presenting information, and collaborative project development to solve real-world problems. Students will have the ability to work collaboratively on a project with other students without being in the same direct instruction group.

Chromebooks in the classroom will help increase student interest and comprehension as educational material can be provided at various levels to meet the needs of both struggling and gifted students simultaneously.

A fair education is not giving all students the same thing but giving each student what they need to succeed. My students arrive with various backgrounds and levels of experience. Through the use of digital field trips, tutorials, and leveled presentations, my students will be able to close the education gap that separates them from their peers. Learning to use technology such as an HP Chromebook and all of the tools that the digital platform allows will help my students gain knowledge. Many of my students have moved around, some of my immigrant students have language barriers to overcome, and many of my students lack access to current technology due to financial constraints out of their control. Without technology, many students are missing the educational opportunities they deserve and need. Help me to give them back control of their educational experience by providing the tools they need to gain the skills they deserve.
