My students need supplies to build their amazing engineering ideas. They build bottle-rockets to take to the sky, towers to hold the weight of the world and cars that will, hopefully, move them forward in life.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
So many supplies are consumed in a year; however, less and less funding is available to replace these. My students don't come from the background to be able to afford supplies, so it's either my pocket or they go without. They go without for so much, and they shouldn't go without for school supplies.
Many of my students can't afford their basic school supplies, but I never let a student go without.
Every year I give binders, pens, pencils, paper, snacks and other supplies to any student in need. However, as our school keeps loosing money and people, we have less and less to do even our basic job.
My Project
It can be amazing how fast middle school students can consume materials when designing their dreams. Duct tape and glue never seem to stay on the shelves. They design, test, redesign and retest their bottle rockets, towers, planes and so much more.
Their excitement about their projects is inspiring.
They stay after school and work from home trying to get the perfect project that will go down in history. Their successes each year drive them to do better the following year, and, of course, that means more supplies. We need batteries, glue, duct tape, and other supplies.
With all the excitement comes the need to help the students keep themselves organized. I strive to teach them how to stay organized while dreaming big.
