Help me give my students a variety of building blocks and a space that is both comfortable and organized for their construction activities.

My Project

I am the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) teacher to 720 amazing students. This is the second year that the school has had a STEM class, so I am still in the process of acquiring many of the materials needed for our STEM activities. This project would support the engineering component of STEM.

Building blocks are a staple in many STEM classrooms because they help kids develop important STEM skills like spatial reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

For this reason, I am requesting a variety of building blocks such as Legos, Plus Plus Blocks, and Buildzi Blocks. I am also requesting the Sticks and Rings Osmo activity which can be used with ipads and focuses on construction and technology skills.

In addition to supplying the students with a variety of building blocks, I would like to create a construction area in my classroom that is both comfortable and organized. Many students prefer to build with blocks on the floor, for this reason, I am asking for a rug that will provide comfort to these students as they are building. I am requesting storage bins for organization which will make it easier for the students to identify different blocks as they are building their creations.
