Your donation of Lego building blocks will give my students a great opportunity to recreate some of the most iconic structures in the world. We study international languages and cultures in my class. My students use virtual reality to visit landmarks all over the world. Brining LEGO into our space will allow us to recreate structures that my students usually only get to see pictures of.
With LEGO bricks we can use math and science to create a scaled version of the Great Wall of China so that students can get a better understanding of the actual structure.
We will also use LEGO bricks to recreate the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Egypt, St. Basil, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and many other landmarks. My students will use LEGO to explore, collaborate, and create landmarks which they may never see in person. Once we have created these landmarks we can then include Arts Integration into the lesson by putting our structures in visual backgrounds that reflect the geographic features of the site. We can create scenes using tableau to understand what was happening in the past or real time.
