My Students

My 1st grade class is full of excited, engaged, and enthusiastic learners. I am so excited to share the love of learning with them for an entire school year. My students see themselves as scientists, historians, authors, illustrators, and mathematic masters.

In the classroom, the possibilities are endless!

It is my job to ensure every child succeeds using their personal attributes to accomplish set goals. The socio-economic status of students in my school varies greatly. Our classroom community supports the individuality of each child while forming a cohesive caring environment for all students.

My Project

Students have missed opportunities to work together in small groups. They have also had limited experiences using their fine motor skills. Using play experiences to develop social skills to work as a team is fundamental in early childhood development. Using open ending building toys will help my class with both of these things. My students need opportunities to play and work cooperatively with their friends. The building toys we are asking for will provide many learning experiences for my students. These hands-on activities will foster growth in social skills as well as fine motor development to help bridge the gap my students have from being out of the classroom.

If you donate to our project, my students will learn cognitive skills while they work on sharing, communicating, and collaborating with others through creative play!

Building and STEM activities are an essential part of the classroom. It stimulates all areas of development. It is a fun and engaging way to bring the classroom to life while teaching students how to develop and use skills to work together and cooperate in meaningful ways. All while actively learning!
