My Project

I am an elementary special education teacher working in a therapeutic school for students with autism! Many of our students utilize assistive and adaptive technology called AAC devices to communicate their wants and needs.

These devices are critical to our students' communication, and these devices are their words.

Imagine, you only have so many hours in a day where your voice is charged, and after a few hours you need to sit at an outlet to charge your voice. This is the reality for our students when their device's batteries run low. By providing portable batteries and short chargers to our students, we can increase their independence and freedom, so that they do not need to rely on a wall outlet when their device's battery begins running low.
