My Students

The 5th-grade scholars I meet and greet as well as educate daily are real blessings. These scholars are reminded daily that they matter. The scholars that enter 5th-grade work so hard in conditions that are sometimes not pleasing.

My students come from very diverse backgrounds.

They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. Despite the challenges of learning in a pandemic, my students are trying their best with what they are given and thriving.

All scholars can learn, yet they need the materials to help them do so. No greater joy is there than to see your scholars fly as high as they can academically. That is what the scholars want and that is my wish and goal for them. With those challenges, my co-workers and I continue to educate and put a smile on faces that have minds full of life’s problems at the tender age of 10.

My Project

My amazing 5th-grade students have been working so hard in a hybrid model all year. Using a Chromebook has limited the activities we are able to do. The addition of this laptop means a glitch-free 2nd screen so the students can participate in more activities when learning on Google Meet; my in-person students will benefit too!

The laptop will be used in an infinite number of ways to bridge the digital divide and help my students be the best learners they can be.

This project will truly enhance instruction in the classroom allowing me to use different apps to meet student's needs and apps like "speech to text." The students in my classroom have various needs and learner variability, but having supports like this will truly make a difference. We will use this for mini-lessons, showing videos, creating Flipgrids, Google Meets, and more. Having this device in the classroom will make a world of a difference and will truly meet their individual needs.
