Help me give my students 21 copies of the Barrons’s AP Calculus test preparation book and 1 set of flashcards to help them earn college credit on the AP calculus exam.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Please help my AP Calculus students earn college credit on the AP exam. I teach students in a poor inner city Houston community. My students don’t have the same access to resources as their more affluent suburban peers. The majority of students who get to an AP calculus course have a lot more home support than most of my students. I had to fight just to ensure that we offered AP calculus rather than allow seniors who had finished precalculus to discontinue their math journey.
I have a strong group of students who could absolutely pass the AP calculus exam if they had adequate practice and resources.
They have heart and they are eager to learn. They have not had enough exposure to the rigor and endurance of an AP Calculus exam. Many of my students do not have access to internet from home. This resource would provide each of my students 12 full length AP calculus practice exams along with a comprehensive review of the material covered throughout the year. With this at home resource and my guidance to help pace them through the resource, my students will be prepared for the rigor and endurance required of them to pass the AP Calculus exam.
