My Students
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and for my students this couldn't be further from the truth.
My students attend high school in an extremely urban and high poverty area of New York.
They attend a public high school that strives to teach though wildlife connections. The students that would be utilizing these materials are in 9-12 grade and in classes that center around wildlife conservation and learning about animals from around the globe. My students are curious and ready to learn about the world and wildlife around them.
My Project
I'm requesting ink for the printer I use to print out the images my students' use for projects and posters on wildlife. In using a color printer to do this they are able to have images that are more dimensional and true to life. In creating conservation awareness posters images of endangered animals in color will hold more validity than those that are black and white. The scissors are something my students have been requesting for their projects. I have a creative bunch of kids who want to let their creativity shine even it is just by cutting their images and information blocks with fancy scissors. The Elmer's glitter glue will allow them to add a little sparkle to their project without getting glitter all over the place. While the rubber cement will help them to work on their posters while still being able to move pieces if necessary and it will not wrinkle their information papers like typical glue dose.
The requested materials in this project will help my students in many ways.
These materials will not only allow my students to see color visuals of the animals we are learning about but it will also allow them to share what they are learning with their peers through the posters they create.
