Help me give my students the gift of technology. My Special Education Classroom would benefit from learning through technology, accessing websites, and connecting to the world using a MacBook and its charging ports.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The gift of MacBook Pro technology would help my special education classroom access worldly knowledge. My small group of ten resource students would be able to make connections between textbook passages and current events through websites projected onto my Activeboard screen.
The gift of technology will increase my English Language Learners' vocabulary knowledge while increasing their reading comprehension.
My small group of special education students are also learning the English language. Accessing technology in my daily instruction will help promote students' academic and social vocabulary knowledge. Students could use the laptop to access reading learning websites to increase their word knowledge, decoding abilities, and comprehension.
My hard-working students would be able to learn at their own pace. When they complete their daily assignments, they will have the opportunity to access a learning website. By using an ability-leveled reading website, students' reading and vocabulary skills will continue to increase.
I will also use the laptop to connect with families through the Parent View website. Here, I can communicate daily with parents about their child's achievements. The website will translate our communication into the family's Native language.
My exceptional learners and I will be honored to have our project granted for the requested MacBook Pro and charging station.
