My Project

During the pandemic, it was incredibly hard for students to come together in music classes, connect with one another, and explore, with a teacher, their voices and music as a whole. In a recent transition in my teaching, I have just started working at the middle school level. The students are eager and hungry to learn more about music, listen and talk about it, and use their voices to sing together. The gaps in learning are apparent and the need to focus on fundamentals is key. The materials requested in this project will allow for the focus on developing healthy vocal technique while also introducing students to part singing and enhancing their experience through learning the music of other cultures and connecting with one another. Items, such as headphones, will allow them to more easily work and focus on their own listening and music-creation projects.
