This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning we start our day with writing and going over all of the daily concepts. My students are seven and eight years old. My biggest challenge is finding ways to keep them engaged, focus, and interested in learning. In addition to finding new ways to express their learning.
The school that I teach it is very open to mainstreaming our special-education student.
That's why it is my goal as their teacher to make sure each of my students have the opportunity and materials they need to assist in their learning. Helping my students learn retain information and express themselves are my heart feel goals for each of them. "If a child can't learn the way teach maybe we should teach them the way they learn " -

My Project
One of the challenges that many of my students have is expressing their learning. Ipads as I found out was an awesome idea!! Finding this out happen by doing an app search on my own pad. I was looking at this reading program on the Ipad during my lunch break. I found an app that went over many of the concepts that I teach. Being that it was an pad it caught the attention of one of my students. She came over to me to share in my search. I tried the program out on her and she was responding to all the questions by pushing in the correct response. And just like that I have found the answer to accessing my students with delay speech and holding their focus in interest at the same time. My students will use the apps as enrichment tool for learning ABC's, numbers, shapes, colors, free writing skills, and reading.
Many of my students come from homes where English is a second language to them using the Ipads will help them develop the language skills that they need to succeed in their education.
In addition the Ipads would help my special needs students who want to learn by using hands on involvement and stimulation that is attached to learning.
