This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a Title I school, I face many challenges to help my students succeed. However, each student that enters my classroom has such a love of learning and desire to be successful. Inside the classroom, I have students from multiple grade levels at the same time. Station-based learning is consistently going on to meet the needs of the students.
These incredible learners are scientists, mathematicians, authors, readers, engineers, and thinkers.
Your donation will help these little minds access resources and technology to improve their learning on a daily basis. Each student comes in with different backgrounds, interests, and language abilities. Meeting their individual needs is my goal. Your generosity will help my students and I achieve new goals.
My Project
Our district does a great job providing us with digital resources and digital tools to use on a daily basis to transform our learning building on the 21st century skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. We have access to the digital versions of all textbooks, Discovery Education, myON, and so much more. These district provided resources are increasingly critical for students learning from home and in the classroom. However, preparing and using these resources requires updated technology for each student to make the most use of them. My goal for the last several years is to create a one-to-one device classroom in which all students have access to a device.
Learning how to reinvent the classroom during current conditions requiring distance learning that focuses on the use of technology and developing students' skills.
The classroom has drastically changed over the past year. The digital tools have allowed for collaboration while maintaining social distancing guidelines. My goal continues to focus on increasing our digital tools until we have enough for all students. With generous donations, I am on my way to this goal. This is even more important now as CDC guidelines include not sharing digital devices to help keep everyone safe. Going forward, I would love to have a one-to-one classroom to also eliminate the need for device sharing in the classroom!
