My students need a document camera! Having one of these clever devices will be a great way for me to make our learning more interactive, and help to connect us to the world through video conferencing!
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Dietzman's classroom raised $238

My Students
I teach two classes of 25-30 students each. My students come from a wide range of backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. They have moved to our community from all corners of the globe and are blessed with having an extremely diverse school in which to have their first public school experience. Our school welcomes about 750 students each day who speak at least 12 different languages.
Sunset is, in large part, a neighborhood school, wherein many students walk to school and live very close by.
This makes our school feel like much more of a community and creates a very welcoming and friendly environment.
Sunset is also in a very interesting position as far as the makeup of our students is concerned. While we do have a large portion of students who are considered high-need, either academically, economically, or both, we do not get as much funding as similar schools as we are right at the cusp of having the appropriate number for said funding. This puts a large strain on our resources as we must work to find the materials we need, without the extra help from outside sources.
My Project
My students will greatly benefit from having a document camera in our classroom. While these devices are certainly a luxury, they greatly improve class participation and provide for seamless involvement in whatever lesson we are working on. By using a document camera, I will be able to demonstrate activities so that all students can clearly see. I will be able to connect our classroom to the world through Skype and Virtual Field trip and Expert in their Field virtual class "visits."
My students will be able to see and connect to the world in ways not normally possible in a regular classroom through the use of this awesome technology.
I would sincerely appreciate any help you're able to provide, and I know my students will as well!
