This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Emotions are hard to handle, even more in children. Teaching them about their emotions, coping skills and conflict resolution are skills they will take with them a whole lifetime!
I will be working with 5th grade girls, teaching them valuable skills that will help them with conflict resolution with peers.
We will first learn learn to identify our emotions, second how to manage the emotions using coping skills, and lastly review conflict resolution steps which include identifying emotions and coping skills with games, activities, and reading material.
By teaching these skills I will be equipping them with skills that can be used in the school setting, at home and continue onto their teenage years and adulthood.
