This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Middle school students are always worried about how they present themselves. They worry about the impressions that they make and finding how to feel confident in themselves. We all know middle school can be very scary and students just want to make sure they are confident. Being able to have your hair look the way exactly how you want boosts your self-esteem. Many students worry about how they look throughout the day or have meltdowns over not liking how their hair came out.

I want students to feel confident in the spaces they show up, not having to worry about what anyone thinks about their hair.

The products in this project allow for students to boost their confidence. Students at my school appreciate having products easily accessible to them. They feel cared for and know that someone is always looking out for them, ensuring that they feel safe at school. The goal of this project is for students to not feel self-conscious about their looks, and instead feel empowered.
