Concrete Tools for Distance Learning to Develop Soft Skills
Help me give my students access to organizational tools like this weekly planner to stay focused and productive throughout the day, while planning ahead to keep their eye on the bigger picture!

My Students
Our school is in the northwest section of Philadelphia. This is only the sixth year the school has existed and we are in the "Innovative Network", which means that we challenge the traditional model of education and try innovative new approaches to best teach and prepare
our students to become critical thinkers who are passionate, curious, and lifelong learners.
The school uses project-based learning and the creation of this space is certainly in keeping with that. We are a public school, but draw students from all over the city.
Distance learning has made this year immensely challenging. For many of our students, some of those soft skills they would have been developing in school have become strained because of remote learning. Time management, organization, and self-motivation are now front and center more than ever.
My Project
Many of our students have felt overwhelmed by the challenges presented
by distance learning.
We've been remote since March and some of my students are still developing important soft skills such as organization, learning how to prioritize and put "first thing first", and manage their time.
Some students would benefit greatly from a concrete tool to coordinate their efforts to mitigate stress and feel productive and successful in their work.
This project is very straightforward and simple because I think many of my students would benefit from having an actual planner. This will give them the opportunity to look away from their screens and feel empowered to take ownership and control of their daily schedules.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
