Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a big city in a low income/ high poverty school, my special needs students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with tools and materials that encourage creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My class consists of 11 special need students.

We need and deserve the opportunities for learning just like our general ed peers. We want a computer, (or two!!)

My Project

We are requesting an additional laptop( in this case a LENOVO) for our classroom, for the mobility and ease within our daily classroom activities, and the flexibility for our less mobile classmates.( Donors Choose has been an excellent resource, and this project is just one more HOPE for added technology. )

Having a computer in the classroom, allows for added learning opportunities, a broader resource for our learners, and another center within the classroom for us to learn.Presenly, a few classmates are less mobile, and having a laptop available makes for ease and accommodations.

Our students want to learn, and come to school anxious and eager to learn, despite the adverse situations that they come from.
