This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a group of 100 plus dedicated 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who have a strong passion for learning through technology. I am charged with teaching these students important Advanced Placement and Cambridge level lessons while integrating technology. Throughout the year, the students use programs and create projects that encourage them to use technology.
This project will have a positive impact on my students and help them prepare for their college level end of year exams.
Our school is a high performing school with significant parent involvement. We strive for excellence as we prepare our students for the technology driven world of the future.
My Project
As technology evolves I feel that it is my role as a classroom teacher to provide meaningful experiences to enhance their digital literacy. These laptops will provide my students the opportunity to work on many activities in the classroom that will improve their technological skills. These computers will help give more of my student’s access to complete their online classwork and district programs that target their individual needs.
We develop real world events that require students to create business plans, analyze feasibility studies, and compose a 5000 word document that is sent to Cambridge University for college credit consideration.
The development of these events requires daily internet access and these computers will help students have more access during the school day. In addition our students will use a variety of programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft One Drive, and Microsoft Publisher to complete their event documentation.
In addition, our school district is moving towards adopting electronic textbooks for our students. These laptops will provide students increased access to their textbooks online.
