This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We started with one computer - large - unmovable - and SLOW. We have begun exploring the world via iPads, but I want my students to be able to navigate the technological world in all possible ways.
My students (as I always say) are the future, and need to be prepared for it.
They are people who don't have the advantages that most students on our country do. If they began on a more leveled playing field they will have a better opportunity to compete and succeed.
My Project
A missing component of our curriculum is the use of technology. Ironically, this element is not supported given the absence of actual computers. Subsequently, my students don't have computers or access to the Internet when they leave school. With computers in the classroom my students will be able to use the internet to read, do math, discover Social Studies, and explore Science topics.
This project will create the shift in the way my students access and demonstrate what and how they learn.
It will provide the basis for real world learning, and provide technology that is how students will ultimately be accessing education in the future (now).
