I teach special education to middle school students in NYC. I am a self-contained teacher, meaning the students are with me for multiple subjects most of the day. I try to keep all the supplies the students need on hand and available for all students.
What my students benefit from the most is visual displays of information.
I've always used my personal MacBook to create slides with images and information. A Macbook works wonderfully with chrome internet and google slides and forms, which we use extensively in class. My trusty computer lasted for many years, but this summer while planning for a new school year, the display went and sadly cannot be fixed. It is time for a new computer, used to create lessons for class. What is needed is the basic entry level MacBook Air. It has everything I need to create lessons to display with images and information to my students in class on an all day every day basis.
