Computer Mice Needed for STEM Program

My students need wired computer mouses to help them effectively utlize the educational software used for our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum and programs. The finger trackpads are not reliable and hinder their learning experiences.

My Students

The school is situated in a rural area on the western most part of O'ahu, Hawaii. We serve a high-poverty population of students who lack reliable transportation and for most of them, it is difficult to get the basic school supplies that are needed to learn. They face daily challenges and desperately need our support and care. Please join me in supporting our students that need a leg up in society. I believe education is a priority and it should not be hindered for those that come from low socio-economic statuses.

My Project

Our students luckily have access to Chromebook laptops, however, the finger track pads on these electronic devices have proven to be very unreliable when it comes to effectively utilizing the wonderful educational software used for our STEM programs. The cursor often is glitchy and hard to control when students are navigating with the pads of their fingers. Our school community aims to go green and limit the use of paper by providing our students with opportunities that are technology-rich and cyber friendly. However, without computer mouses, the experiences are filled with frustration more than joy.

A wired computer mouse that can be hooked up via the USB ports on the Chromebook laptops will help to greatly enhance our students' learning experiences and relieve them of the current frustrations that occur with navigating through the educational web pages with finger track pads.
