Everyday is new in our classroom. Imagine a concert with your favorite headliners except there are always surprises. The music is always amazing but there is a new opening act everyday.
My students are nothing like anything I have ever encountered.
They surprise me every day with knowledge they randomly share and things they say out loud. They are inspiring in their independence and self-control for five-year-Olds. Our school is classified as title 1 and located in the East New York section of Brooklyn. My classroom population can be described as a mix of students with Autism. My Project
I am requesting 14 learning DVDs and programs to provide an alternative avenue of learning for my students. Meet the letters, meet the phonics, and meet the sight words 1-3 would reinforce letter sounds as well as strengthen their reading skills. In addition, the leap frog computer programs, word world 3 pack, Dr. Seuss kindergarten, and TLC Arthur's learning program will scaffold student learning while making it enjoyable. Adding technology in a fun way would allow my students to be engaged in learning in a different way. The learning programs will allow the students to build their sight word bank, sound recognition, letter familiarity, number identification, as well as provide an entertainment that will keep them engaged. Using these tools will allow students to dive into learning without hesitation simply because it is presented as a game.
Funding this project will make learning a blast.
