This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every child deserves access to technology! I am a kindergarten teacher in a high-need community and our classroom needs a computer. Our school is on a mission to make sure all of our students are performing at or above grade-level. My students would greatly benefit from having access to a computer. Not only would they learn how to operate a computer (a skill that they will need for life), but they would be able to use educational computer programs to enhance their literacy and math skills.
The administration and teachers in my school are extremely dedicated to our students, but there are simply not enough resources for all of our students. The school cannot afford to supply each classroom with a computer, so I am turning to Donors Choose for help.
My classroom needs a computer so that my students will have access to technology before they get to first-grade. More and more standardized tests are being administered on the computer, so every child needs to feel comfortable using a computer!
Your help will give my students a fair chance to achieve their academic goals. In addition, you will make 29 kindergarten students smile every single day because they will feel so lucky to have a computer in their classroom.
