Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is been a harrowing year for our students. They are confined to their apartments in the city. We have been able to set up remote learning, and we are doing our best to engage all students. We are teaching remotely and use Google Classroom and Google Meet to support our students. Our students live in an area where recent protests which included looting occurred in their neighborhood. They could not sleep that night due to ever-present fire trucks and helicopters. They are aware of what has happened to George Floyd and others. They are concerned about their family and friends. We are doing our best to support our students and address issues of racial inequality and support the Black Lives Matter movement.

My Project

We have been doing so many exciting and engaging activities remotely.

My computer is no longer working.

It is used in so many ways to make schoolwork relevant, engaging, and creative.

We meet daily on Google Meet. We use Flip Grid so the students can record themselves. Virtual trips are happening. Students are receiving live instruction. They are provided links to so many activities. Feedback is so important to students and they receive it remotely on a daily basis. Students are able to contact teachers through email. Now, my computer has stopped working. I have been using my phone, but it is difficult to do all that I want, using it. Having a computer again would be so helpful.
