Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a economically-challenged district with many that are on a free- or reduced-lunch program. They work hard and they always strive for their own personal best. But sometimes the need for technology tools impede their ability to be their best selves.
Students that have the tools they need to make technology accessible will make them successful!
Many students in my district are English Language Learners and struggle with reading a grade level text. One way that seems to help them is the use of headphones so they can access the text-to-speech feature that many websites and school-mandated apps have.
Having the ability to use headphones and a mouse would tremendously help my students! Besides my English Language Learners, I have students with IEPs and 504s and tools like headphones and a mouse would balance out the playing field and give all of my students a chance to achieve their goals.
