Computer Cacophony Caper Part 1

My students need 15 pairs of headphones.

My technology loving students aspire to achieve academic success. The elementary school in which I teach is located in a high-need community. I teach the 432 students library/media and computer skills.

In the computer lab, there are not enough properly functioning headphones. There are several interactive educational websites the students use which have audio components.

My students need and deserve headphones that work correctly. When they are online engaged in interactive learning programs in which listening is required, they need to be able to hear what is being said.

Your support will enable my students to properly hear the audio features on the interactive education online sites. One of the favorite sites of the first and second grades is Star Fall. This site allows them to develop their reading skills by listening, watching and reading animated interactive books. Another website the third though fifth grades benefit from is Brain Pop, an educational site with short Flash movies in all subject areas which can reinforce what they are learning in their classrooms.
