Comprehensible Spanish Readers for My Novice Students

Help me give my students a chance to read in Spanish with books that are meant to be easily read by novices.

My Project

One of the best ways to improve a student's ability to speak and understand a language is to read and understand language in a comprehensible format. These books are designed so that even novice readers can read in the target language and understand exactly what they are reading. These books will provide that information in a fun story. These books contain glossaries and novice-level vocabulary that make it easier for students to understand what they are reading.

My students are brand new to learning Spanish, and these books will give them a chance to feel like they are really learning the language and can understand it.

Research suggests that the more input a student receives in the target language, the better they learn it. Reading these books will give them the input they need. Exposure to Spanish is key, especially since we are moving to a new block schedule and there will be more time to implement a short novel during my class periods.
