Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being surrounded by a class of opinionated and intelligent curious minds never ceases to amaze me. My days are a constant shower of excitement, motivation and pride from my lively group of predominantly Latino third graders.
We are a Title I school in the San Fernando Valley within the Los Angeles county with a close knit community full of students from various cultural backgrounds.
As a Title I school, many of our students come from economically disadvantaged households and often cannot donate every year to a new classroom.
My classroom has a diverse mix of students, including our third grade English Learner cluster. My students and I love to learn, experiment, question (everything), and work together to create a fun and caring classroom environment.
My Project
My students need resources and classroom materials, including a Mohawk Aurora Planet System Rug, 36 Composition Notebooks, and a Giant Classroom Timer, to complete our classroom atmosphere and make the best possible learning environment for everyone! A new classroom environment requires a variety of materials and resources to thrive. Many teachers develop their supply over many years in order to provide the best instruction for each individual student.
This assortment of materials will have a huge impact on the atmosphere and success of our classroom.
The pocket chart and hooks will provide a visual reminder of content specific vocabulary in the classroom. Our new class rug will provide a great area to practice our reader's center. Each classwork notebook will be utilized for a different content area in order to help organize students and provide meaningful instruction. Thank you for helping to fund the finishing touches of our classroom, my students will certainly benefit from your generosity!
