My Students
After a tough year of stay-at-home learning, there is a large disparity in reading levels for each grade level. Fun novels with artwork have been shown to have a positive impact by associating words with pictures. Getting hooked on a series provides a launching pad for a lifetime love of reading.
Some of the students at my school help organize books in series order during their lunch break, and contribute to the success of the library, so I am hoping to find funding to be able to order the books they request we carry.
My Project
After a year without school library time and a shaky COVID start to this year, the library has not received many donations.
My students are very excited about certain series and constantly ask me if we have the newest books in those series.
We don’t have a budget to buy books for the library, so I hope that donors will help us get some of the books they keep asking for. Keeping the love of reading alive during uncertain times is a comfort they can have in school and bring home at night.
