My Students

My students are curious and active 1st and 2nd graders. I have students who just turned 6 during the school year all the way to 9 years of age. They came into the school year with a variety of skill levels; I had some students who did not know all of their letters and some students who can write complete paragraphs. However, most of my students are still working to catch up to their grade level.

My students live in an area known for its high crime rate and poverty.

Despite this, there is a strong sense of community and the people here want their children to succeed.

My Project

These items are the finishing touches to my new reading group routine. We have already received brand new books and comfortable seating! My students have been blown away by your generosity. Now we just need a few more finishing touches.

With this project, we will have everything we need to have a smooth small group reading routine.

I will have the ink I need to print out worksheets and leveled readers. Even more importantly, I will have comfortable headphones that my students can use when they use our tablets and our laptops. While I have one small group, another can receive reading instruction using the Acellus program.
