My Project
Our students are using LEGO Spike to learn coding. In preparation for next fall’s competition, they’re learning to program robots to perform different tasks. Adding expansion sets enables the team to train robots for LEGO Challenge tasks.
We’ve got the basic kits now, but we’ll need the expansion set to compete this fall.
The middle school students on this team have aspirations to become engineers. Although my students have the motivation, there are boundries in their life that make it more difficult. The team includes English language learners, first-generation students, and students from low-income backgrounds. This coding opportunity helps unlock many career paths, and with support, we as a community can remove some of the boundaries these students face.
