This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you recall not being able to print your compare and contrast essay due to software incompatibility? I don't because back then we didn't have computers. Thank goodness now a days our kids have the opportunity to type up their essays on computers. Unfortunately not all software is compatible!!!
Our student population is composed of eager minded students, unfortunately they face a low income barrier.
Our school concentrates on preparing them for global careers. They have the opportunity to study foreign language classes such as Korean, Japanese and Chinese as of 6th grade and onto 12th.
My Project
The ability to communicate with the rest of the world will open doors for them in an already competitive job market. 99.9% of them will be first generation college graduates. I myself am a first generation college graduate, therefore I know the feeling of not having the resources to complete assignments and other tasks. The software will provide that opportunity by allowing them to use software that is used in the real world as productive citizens.
I hope you consider our request.
I know just like many other requests it's to help students of low income families. No matter whom you choose, I thank you in advance for trying to make our student more compatible with their success!!!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
