My Project
Students will use these materials to create mixed media sculptures designing their own ideas for public community spaces.
We will focus on how spaces such as community gardens bring people together and provide support, wellness, and a strong feeling of community in our neighborhoods.
We will either visit of view images of spaces in our own community that bring people together in a positive way. Students will learn about public art, gardens, parks, community centers and more. Students will reflect on their own vision for how to build a community and then will construct their own version of a community space.
