Community Service Projects Through Steam and Innovation
Help me give my students basic STEAM supplies. With circuits, styrofoam balls, and basic tools like a cordless drill for assembly of prototypes, students will have the possibility of of supporting their community in ways they never imagined!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With these STEAM supplies, students will build a strong relationship with their community through community service projects. Students will interview community members to discover what is something that would make their life easier, like a cup holder for a wheelchair bound community member.
Using the circuits, hand tools, and other supplies in this project, these amazing students will engineer a variety of different innovative prototypes ideas that will improve the life of either one or many community members.I have recently connected my students with Rocky Mountain MESA through the Colorado School of Mines to help mentor and foster these community STEAM projects.
Our community is a small rual community with a lot of history and self pride whose members work hard to ensure the respect, values, and culture are never lost, and my students would love nothing more than to return the sense of respect and pride for their small hometown!
