Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing young learners. Nearly all the students that attend our school live in low-income households. Despite the enormous challenges these students face on a daily basis, they show up at school, put an enormous effort into their studies, and continually push to make their teachers, families, and themselves proud. These students shine bright every day with the kindness they exhibit toward each other and now it is our mission to extend that kindness beyond the four walls of the classroom, throughout our school community and into the larger community.

Your donation to this project will give the students tools to help the students make the world kinder, one note card, painting, letter of encouragement, expression of gratitude, and positive message at a time.

Inspired by The Time For Kids Service Stars Mission to Spread Kindness, the students will begin their kindness mission by gathering each day and brainstorming ways they, personally, can make our school community a kinder, more compassionate place for everyone. They will write letters of gratitude to community members--students and staff--that they appreciate. They will engage in Random Acts of kindness by leaving envelopes with handwritten words of encouragement for others to find. They will paint posters depicting acts of kindness to encourage others to show kindness as well, and they will draw pictures embellished with stickers and words of kindness to cheer up others they see that might need the encouragement.

With your help the students in this classroom will use the construction paper, markers, paint, stickers, and notecards to spread kindness throughout the school community by creating posters, paintings, note cards and letters of gratitude and encouragement to help make our entire school campus a kinder, happier community filled with compassion for others and gratitude toward others.
