My students need a set of books about community helpers, community helper puppets, and community helper play people.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Roberts's classroom raised $357
This project is fully funded
I teach Kindergarten at a charter school in Oakland, California. Our mission is to integrate community service and the classroom curriculum. We are helping to shape our students into future community leaders.
In order to begin to serve our community outside of the school it is important for our students to understand the people who help a neighborhood succeed. An important part of Social Studies in Kindergarten is learning about the people who help and work in your community.
In order to take our studies to the next level we need quality literature that describes what these important community helpers do. We also need puppets and dolls that allow students to play the roles of various community helpers.
You will make it possible for my Kindergarteners to deepen their understanding of all the people whose hard work make a community thrive. This foundation will help them to understand the difference they can make by helping their community.
