My Students
With current distance learning in place, the students need to be able to observe musical demonstrations that they can emulate at home. I encourage my students to use “found instruments” around the house. While they use their home created items, I can demonstrate on drums they’ll be able to use when we’re back at school.
While I can demonstrate good techniques on the drums with video lessons, my students will be able to use these disinfectant-proof drums when we’ve resumed in person lessons.

My Project
With disinfectant-proof drum heads and some great nesting tubanos, my students will be able to observe good techniques while they anticipate the fun drum circles we’ll create upon resumption of school.
While the students use their home-created percussion instruments, we can continue to work on rhythms of poems and songs, creating a musical literacy to enhance their experience of the shelter-in-place time.
The Remo green and clean drumheads will make the compliance with Covid-19 regulations much easier to follow.
Drum circles are one of the greatest tools for creating community and we can practice now!
