My Project

Creating classroom community is essential to student learning. I want to create a warm welcoming environment in my classroom. Circle time and morning meetings are a time for students to connect to one another. I would love to have a big carpet in my Kindergarten classroom so each students has a special place to sit. We will start each day on this carpet and do a lot of learning and sharing.

Community building, read alouds, partner work, and math practice will all take place on our special learning carpet.

I also also included some special Kindergarten books to read out loud to the class to welcome them to this special year together. The moveable circle cushions will be used for partner reading, center activities, and listening center fun. Kindergarten should be such a special time in students' lives and I cannot wait to create a magical year for them!
