This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine being able to complete an amazing classroom project? Well, we are counting on your help to make it come to life!

I have 23 amazing second grade student and my students come from high needs areas.

A good percentage of my students come from families in which poverty is highly relevant. They live in environments that include housing projects, shelters and foster homes. Approximately half of my students have special needs and they mainly understand concepts taught in the classroom through a variety of activities including hands-on projects.

My Project

In order to provide my students with interactive and engaging opportunities for them to learn the new material presented to them, I have to constantly replenish on supplies. In social studies, we are studying communities such as urban, suburban and rural. We are looking to create dioramas of these communities. This would help my students to have a hands-on project about the communities. At the same time, the project will be great because it will inspire them to learn more about the communities types as they build their own model of them. My students need paint, markers, chart paper, construction paper and landmarks and symbols posters to aid in the dioramas development.

Your donation will help my students acquire and practice the skills they need to master second grade material with the right materials and activity.

This will prepare them for their great next step in their educational journey as they get ready to enter what is called the testing grades.
